Dog meat off menu and someone is going to be a grandma!
Monday, July 14, 2008, 11:27 AM
Congratulations Chantel! ....and and soon to be grandma Cindi .....

Mom’s retirement party went off without a hitch, she had almost 200 people come. She was thinking more would be there. Her teachers from Knoxville performed a skit, going over secrets from her past in Marion county…the first one was she was going to throw a pencil at a student, back in the mid seventies at a student from P-ville and she flipped it in the ceiling instead..etc. They got that from one of the students that was actually in her class that day. You had to be there, it was extremely funny......

Summerfest on Saturday was fun like normal and great weather…..

Worked on the bus yesterday…Thanks to Shanan, Mark, & Jesse for the help. Austin & Blaise helped too…..

Dog meat off the menu during Beijing Olympics This is a crock and I like dogs as much as the next person. It’s part of their culture and not a human rights violation. One of the best parts of traveling is immersing your self in the culture and that sometimes means dealing with culinary differences. If I want to go to Taiwan and do shots of coke off the belly of a lady of the evening I should be able to order my rice with a side of retriever…….

Austin is becoming a better golfer, he's been going most everyday this summer.

Blaise has a t-ball game tonight...

Deep Thought of the Day: Mustn't counting the pollen for the pollen count be very boring?

Retirement and Summerfest
Friday, July 11, 2008, 10:48 AM
After 38ish years in the education field mom is retired from education:
First a teacher at Pleasantville ...from around 69'-85'ish
Second teaching at Indianola ...from 85'ish-98'ish
Principal at Twin Cedars ....from 99'ish-01'ish
Principal at Knoxville ....from 01'ish - July 08'
...I may be off on the years...my best estimates, with out asking her. Shes having a retirement party tonight.....

Ankeny Summerfest this weekend....I'll be serving tomorrow night, like I have the past two years....fun time!

Mrs. Lundt & Mr. Marcus
both graduated with their masters and Sara is having a party Satuday night to celebrate.

We finally finished our softball season off last night by losing both games. Not blaming it our fabulous base runner Andy either….you would have loved his slide at the very end. Won’t be putting a team together anymore, time and patience isn't there….somebody else can do it.

Does riding 4 miles, but at full rotation for those miles actually help in getting “miles in” for RAGBRAI ? I did that after leaving Charlie’s ……what a nice night out!!!

Got some RAGBRAI training in last night, no sleep…all for the wrong reasons.

Deep Thought of the Day: If blood flows down one leg, does it flow up the other?

Have a great weekend!!!

Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.

Ankeny Summerfest is Saturday!

The new 3G iPhones go on sale Friday.......

Tunnel ride tomorrow....

This last 4th of July weekend.....extremely counter productive

Yes, RAGBRAI is right around the corner...working on the bus this weekend....and trying to get some miles in..........

Deep Thought of the Day: If 7-11 is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, why do they heve locks on the doors?
