Carrington Tonight!!! & STACY'S Birthday Tomorrow!!!!
Friday, October 5, 2007, 10:58 AM
Softball was cancelled last night due to the fact the other team forfeited because of their lack of girls. So instead I went to this dinner thing for work, thought it would be good to mingle with co-workers. It was fun; but somehow I created drama between 4 people….but I actually think it probably helped them move on.

I caused another major problem last night…can’t go into details…I will probably will regret this one, but it was the right thing to do.

Rodney Carrington Tonight!......at the Civic Center, this should be a great show….the funniest guy I’ve seen live!

Possibly skydiving tomorrow…depends on what time I get up and if I think my arm can handle it….It will be in Winterset for Kimberly’s B’day celebration.
Beth is having a baby shower tomorrow and someone else is hitting the big 40…right Crack-Whore Stacy…..

Another tough night for the Cubs

Deep Thought of the Day: Maybe in order to understand mankind we have to look at that word itself. MANKIND. Basically, it's made up of two separate words "mank" and "ind." What do these words mean? It's a mystery and that's why so is mankind."

....and now for something completely different

Someone say CORNIVAL !

The Recovering Thinker
It started out innocently enough. I began to think at parties now and then -- just to loosen up. Inevitably, though, one thought led to another and soon I was more than just a social thinker.

I began to think alone -- "to relax," I told myself -- but I knew it wasn't true. Thinking became more and more important to me, and finally I was thinking all the time.

That was when things began to sour at home. One evening I turned off the TV and asked my wife about the meaning of life. She spent that night at her mother's house.

I began to think on the job. I knew that thinking and employment don't mix, but I couldn't help myself. I began to avoid friends at lunchtime so I could read Thoreau, Muir, Confucius and Kafka. I would return to the office dizzied and confused, asking, "What is it exactly we are doing here?"

One day the boss called me in. He said, "Listen, I like you, and it hurts me to say this, but your thinking has become a real problem. If you don't stop thinking on the job, you'll have to find another job."

This gave me a lot to think about. I came home early after my conversation with the boss. "Honey," I confessed, "I've been thinking..."

"I know you've been thinking," she said, "and I want a divorce!"

But Honey, surely it's not that serious." "It is serious," she said, lower lip aquiver.

"You think as much as college professors and college professors don't make any money, so if you keep on thinking, we won't have any money!"

"That's a faulty syllogism," I said impatiently.

She exploded in tears of rage and frustration, but I was in no mood to deal with the emotional drama.

"I'm going to the library," I snarled as I stomped out the door. I headed for the library, in the mood for some Nietzsche. I roared into the parking lot with NPR on the radio and ran up to the big glass doors. They didn't open. The library was closed.

To this day, I believe that a Higher Power was looking out for me that night. Leaning on the unfeeling glass, whimpering for Zarathustra, a poster caught my eye, "Friend, is heavy thinking ruining your life?" it asked. You probably recognize that line. It comes from the standard Thinkers Anonymous poster.

This is why I am what I am today: a recovering thinker. I never miss a TA meeting. At each meeting we watch a non-educational video; last week it was "Porky's." Then we share experiences about how we avoided thinking since the last meeting.

I still have my job, and things are a lot better at home. Life just seemed easier, somehow, as soon as I stopped thinking. I think the road to recovery is nearly complete for me.

Today I took the final step: I joined the Democratic Party

I don't know if I agree with the last line, but I have been doing a lot of thinking.

Hives Rock and Maroon Five were OK
Tuesday, October 2, 2007, 10:03 AM
The Hives and Maroon Five concert was great, wasn’t sold out by any means…..I might have been the only one but I thought The Hives rocked…..Maroon Five was OK…OF course most people didn’t know who The Hives were. Being the opening act they didn’t have the entire stage to work with, but I enjoyed their 30 minute show more. Maroon Five played for an hour and 15 minutes, played most of their songs. The crowd was definitely more into them….
Got back to DSM about 3:30 this morning and now I’m at work…..

Austin was put under to reset his finger yesterday…..no cast just wrapped his two fingers together……we’ll see if he allows that to heal with out screwing it up. ;)

Got my stitches out yesterday….now I can wash my entire arm, etc. Still have to wear an elbow pad as it is extremely tender…….

What else is happening????

Holy smokes…they greenlit a sequel to Shoot ‘Em Up…never saw that coming…..

Tonight…just me and the boys…but I’m guessing we will be going to Austin’s FB practice….to sit and be bored…..

Picture from tailgating at the Bears and Cowboys game 9-23

I'm the one you can't see......

Deep Thought of the Day: Somebody told me how frightening it was how much topsoil we are losing each year, but I told that story around the campfire and nobody got scared.

Stitches coming out and Maroon Five!!
Monday, October 1, 2007, 09:52 AM
;) Going to get these stitches out of my elbow here in a couple hours……damn thing is still extremely tender and very weak…maybe because he removed some of the scarred muscle?

:( Austin had a rough time going to his game yesterday and watching his team get slaughtered…and of course the kid that filled in for him hadn’t taken any snaps this year until yesterday, not in practice either….It was pretty bad. :-o

The LA/NY Models sites are live today...they will be directed from there normal URL in the next 2 weeks...until then....
http://www.globaltalentsystems.com/lamodels http://www.globaltalentsystems.com/newyorkmodels
The backend....where the public can't go is the impressive pieces of the sites....sorry...you can get to either site from either link...they're basically the same.....

Had a great weekend…..yesterday saw Mr. Woodcock ….funny movie!! ……starring Billy Bob Thornton & Seann William Scott

My Cowboys spanked the living daylights out of the Rams yesterday….Cyclones did as well as expected against Nebraska

Heading to the Maroon 5 and The Hives concert tonight in St. Paul…should be good….I moved Little of Your Time by Maroon 5 and Tick Tick Boom by The Hives to the top of the playlist in the audio player.

Will be seeing Mr. Carrington on Friday that should be awesome, last time I saw him….there was no way to stop laughing…..

Widescreen vs Standard( or formatted for your TV)

I’m not going to get in a big discussion right now about this but…….see the difference in picture Stacy ……you're missing part of the scene….if you're complaining because the widescreen is so small….get a bigger TV and make it a widescreen…….

The original Miss Moneypenny; Lois Maxwell for the first 14 James Bond Films died yesterday at age 80....BTW she was hot when she was young.....

Deep Thought for the Day: Instead of a trap door, what about a trap window? The guy looks out it, and if he leans too far, he falls out. Wait. I guess that's like a regular window.
