Chicago was sweet!..of course back to work....must be a Monday!

Friday and Saturday in Chi Town were awesome…….Got to Eric’s about 9:30ish on Friday night and met Marcus, Laura, Scott, Sara…Marcus and Eric had a very rough night the previous night….something about burritos at 3:30am and Marcus not being able to hold his in.

So we headed down to John Barleycorn's , The one down on Lincoln Park, not the closest one to Eric…….anyway everybody was hungry and ordered food and I proceeded to down a few Hacker-Pschorr Weisse’s while checking out the talent. Note: there is so much more talent in Chicago then here…Marcus had to bring me back to reality….Bill met up with us after a while….

We continued down to….for a while and lost Sara,Scott,Maruc,Laura and went down to Gamekeepers till about 3:30 then headed back to Erics….the guy gets up at 7:30 and goes into work on Saturday…..He's Nuts! Once waking up....watched the air show till 1:00 then headed to Murphy’s in front of Wrigley to meet up with the rest of the gang…..packed like normal.

The game was sweet Cubs win!!!! 5-3 over the Cardinals….sorry Ron, where’s that $20 you owe me ;)Our crew for the game included Marcus, Laura, Sara, Scott, Eric, Stacy, Bill, Bob, Larry, Ron, Linda, Dorothy, Greg(uni-brow), and Chad…8 of us from DSM. Jenny and her friend didn’t make it….couldn’t get out of bed… ;) They serve the adult sodas until the 7th inning stretch…so we got an extra hour because of the first rain delay of an hour…..

After the game we went down to the Italian bar/restaurant named Tuscany’s. Had a nice meal after freezing outside for 15 minutes because according to a particular girl it’s not that bad out ;)……We headed down to Bar Celona’s after that to find Ron and Linda. They were already gone. I would have like to stay there…Cool atmosphere, but the dueling piano bar was the groups choice….which was sweet!! We could only get Stacy and Laura up on the pianos….Marcus has proof of this….I would have but my camera was dancing up on the pianos….. ;-)

Left as soon as we got up on Sunday to come back and spend some time with my boys….

It was a sweet weekend…will be heading back in September and October…..

Here are some of the pictures; hopefully I can get the pictures that Marcus took…….

Friday and Chicago in sight.....

Last night Blaise had his first soccer game....looked cute running around out there....If they would have kept score Blaises team would have got whipped 10-0.....

Trailer for the new Iron Man movie...or at least a huge clip of it.

After work heading to Chi Town for the Cubs game on Saturday against the Cardinals, it will be a rooftop Chicago Cub game Close to 20 of us for this one. Also the Chicago Air show is going on, right over the top of Lake Michigan. That is usually awesome and Eric’s condo over sees the whole thing.
Dragon Boat racing happening at Grays Lake tomorrow. Web site information for the Dragon racing

Thought of the Moment....after receiving a BJ from a woman, and she turns and says I want one...RUN..RUN..RUN...Thanks to Stef for that piece of advice.

Have a great weekend!!!!!!

Thursday and a little rain

Austin had football last night, Blaise and I went to the aquatic center, might be the last time he gets to do that until next summer.

Last night I bought Kissology Vol #2 DVD’s, didn’t know that Vol. 1 existed. I’ll have to go back and find that one. Part of the reason I got this was the Movie “KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park”. It’s a horrible TV movie, but it is Kiss….being a KISS fan it’s something you have to watch once. Anyway when I had seen it before the music was horribly dubbed into the film, not stereo. Special effects and stuff were pretty sad. According to the insert with the DVD’s they had redubbed the music to the movie cleaned up the special effects, changed some of the concert footage and stuff. I viewed it for a few minutes last night to see if it improved and it did. Something to force the kids to watch, they will probably get a kick out of it. They also renamed the movie to Kiss meets the Phantoms and also it was Widescreen……

Picture of the boys,Marcus, and I at Adventureland on Monday.

Heres a group shot of us on Saturday at least the boats...more pictures to follow, but I have to go back to work. ;)

Tonight Austin has practice and Blaise a soccer game.

Back to work…I’m so not excited.

I think we picked the hottest day to go to the fair yesterday! We pretty much looked at everything. The kids went through the livestock barns. The Avenue of Breeds were pretty disappointing, the FFA isn’t maintaining them very well. Blaise was a little scared to hold a baby chick, he did pet it though. Blaise also wanted to get close to the cattle, so we walked in the middle of the showing pavilion during the 4-H show. Blaise didn’t seem phased at all by the mammoth beasts. He could get squish if stepped on...I guess he hasn’t been around them enough; I need to get him better acquainted so he doesn’t get hurt some time I’m not around.
Ran into a particular state trooper again…twice, went down the slide, the sky glider, there was only one car in the 4-H building a 55 4-door Chevy, Austin has told me he’s restoring a car for the fair…He’d better start saving his money!

Adventureland on Monday was fun, a little warm. It was fun having Marcus hang out with us. When we went down the log ride Blaise was totally soaked on the first hill, like 5 gallons of water, just shusssshhh. I’ll have pictures up for Adventureland soon too! Blaise loved the Outlaw roller coaster, wouldn’t put his arms down for nothing…..Austin was able to throw the baseball 54 MPH on the baseball throw.

Friday night going to Chi Town for the Cubs game on Saturday against the Cardinals, it will be a rooftop Chicago Cub game Close to 20 of us for this one. Also the Chicago Air show is going on, right over the top of Lake Michigan. That is usually awesome and Eric’s condo over sees the whole thing.
For you staying in town the Dragon Boat racing will be happening at Grays Lake. Web site information for the Dragon racing I so wanted to do that, as it hasn’t been in town for 4 years?

Austin has his first football practice tonight and Blaise has his first ever soccer game tomorrow night. Can’t Wait!

Off to the fair!!!!

Friday night was a blast…East Side White Trash Night at the fair. I counted around 32 mullets….I saw 3 Skullets, and one femullet to name a few…saw 5 mohawks, guess there coming back in……Just a great mix of weirdo’s - self included.

Listened to the Nadas for a while, disappointing they had sounded better on RAGBRAI……. Couldn’t find anyone to accompany me to Alice Cooper. That I’m sure would have been great, he’s got some great music. I may dump one in the audio player on Wednesday.

Ran into so many people I knew, that was very cool…for me. Unfortunately I didn’t even get to say HI to half of them. I talked to several people I haven’t seen for 10-20 years….where does the time go? I have some small incidents that happened, but I’m not going into them……The fair was fun, not enough time though.

Saturday full contact, extreme canoeing! That was so much fun!!!! Nature, a little alcohol, friends…..more weirdo’s….I’ll have to talk more about it once I get the photos up.

I took a beating on the canoe trip, I had so much fun though...they don't actually hurt. I think I caused those marks when I went flying over three canoes to tackle Spauding out of his....

We are out of here on the way to the fair!!! Have a great day.

Wow…I’m still exhausted between Fair, canoeing, Adventureland……and now back to the fair.....
