Some People Never Learn

"German scientists recently showed what many of us suspected but could not prove — some people just don't learn. The German researchers have found a genetic factor that affects our ability to learn from our errors. The scientists demonstrated that men carrying the A1 mutation are less successful at learning to avoid mistakes than men who do not carry this genetic mutation. This finding has the potential to improve our understanding of the causes of addictive and compulsive behaviors."

Many would be wise if they did not think themselves wise.

-11 degrees outside…what is this….

What the Heck???……someone has a flat tire, pulled over to the side of the rode and it backs up 3OO cars, wasting valuable natural resources as they fix it and makes everyone more edgy, later, & thinking that their turning signal is a magic wand…. Natural Resources wasted: Fuel and the semi-metallic brake pads using copper, brass, and steel wool. Wake up people and drive like you know what you're doing! You don't need to slow down to a crawl as you drive by this person, just to see if you know them....By the way they were way off the road.

The new James Bond movie coming out in November has a title: Quantum of Solace

Pool League last night…I won all three of my games and actually looked very good, I would have beat everyone I’ve played in the last 6 months with those 3 games…anyway. As a team we won 9 games they won 6, but we eventually tied 9-9 ….why? …because of handicaps…the first night the handicaps are created based off your score. They ended up with a handicap 0f 45 and us with 12…you add those to total number of balls hit in and whomever has the most points automatically receives 3 additional games…….

I played one of the lead singers from ZZTop last night at Suzy Q’s …we split the games…he plays 3-4 times per week. He looked very good, but I held my own. Not bad for someone with my limited abilities.

One word for ISU ….REBOUND!!!!!!!!
They lost to the # 2 team in the country Kansas .

Deep Thought of The Day: It's too bad that whole families have to be torn apart by something as simple as wild dogs.

Start of pool league
Wednesday, January 23, 2008, 10:20 AM
Wasted about 20 minutes today, because I was running about 15 minutes later than normal taking the kids to school. Had to wait for over 100 vehicles dropping their middle schoolers off at school. My question is WHY? Can't these kids walk or ride the school bus? I know the Indianola School System has buses in town?...Come on people, some are legit(to quit)...besides all the wasted fossil fuels, while we are all setting their breathing in the toxic fumes from the vehicle in front of us....our kids are getting lazier by the minute....Now you're like, why are you dropping your kids off? Because we don't live in the school district.....

ISU plays at Kansas tonight, this should show if they actually have improved or if the last couple games were flukes....

Congratulations to the Smoot's they're having a GIRL! Still a few months away.
Pool league starts tonight....Smoked filled Suzy's . ;ii Be interesting to see how I fair, as I haven't played since last spring and then the surgically repaired elbow, still isn't 100%. I have been trying to play as much as I can, but I don't look that great...losing to everyone, even a GIRL.

Beth Watch ...nothing yet...any day!

Deep Thought of the Day: It's fascinating to think that all around us there's an invisible world we can't even see. I'm speaking, of course, of the World of the Invisible Scary Skeletons.

Getting Old
Many of us are guilty of looking at others our own age and thinking, 'Surely, I can't be that old'. If you've ever done this, then you'll appreciate the following.

My name is Alice Smith and I was sitting in the waiting room for my first appointment with a new dentist. I noticed his DDS diploma, which bore his full name. Suddenly, I remembered a tall, handsome, dark-haired boy with the same name had been in my high school class some 40-odd years ago. Could he be the same guy that I had a secret crush on way back then?

Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. This balding, gray-haired man with the deeply lined face was way too old to have been my classmate.

After he examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended Morgan Park High School.

'Yes, I did. I'm a mustang,' he gleamed with pride.
'When did you graduate?' I asked.
'In 1965,' he replied. 'Why do you ask?'
'You were in my class!' I exclaimed.

He looked at me closely ... and then that ugly, old, bald, wrinkled, fat-ass, gray-haired decrepit son-of-a-bitch asked, 'What did you teach?'

Deep Thought of the Day: If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.
