Beautiful 1936 Stainless Steel Ford Coupe
Thursday, November 20, 2008, 08:44 AM - Obituaries
This is the 1936 Ford Coupe built for and owned by Allegheny Ludlum Steel. This is 1 of only 4 in existence and is the only one currently in running & in roadworthy condition. The car is in exceptional condition, with the interior and even the frame looking great.
All 4 cars each had over 200,000 miles on them before they removed them from service. These cars were built for Allegheny as promotional and marketing projects. The top salesmen each year were given the honor of being able to drive them for one year. The v-8 engine (max 85 hp) ran like a sewing machine and was surprisingly smooth and quite. I thought this was a much better looking automobile than the Ford Thunderbird that visited us last year.
FYI, the car was insured (we were told) for the trip to Louisville via covered trailer for 1.5 million dollars. We were also told that the dies were ruined by stamping the stainless car parts, making these the last of these cars ever produced.

More information of the history on these automobiles can be found at Allegheny Ludlum's website....

Here is a heads up that if you tend to give gift cards around the holidays, you need to be careful that the cards will be honored after the holidays. Stores that are planning to close after Christmas are still selling the cards through the holidays even though the cards will be worthless January 1. There is no law preventing them from doing this. On the contrary, it is referred to as 'Bankrupcy Planning). Below is a partial list of stores that you need to be cautious about.

I was actually here for this game 1983.....

This was the first and only college football game I got to see live until I started college.....and it happens to be right here. The reason I found this was one of the owners was watching this video, because he is in in it....and I'm like I went to one game in the early 80's when Nebraska beat us like 44-0...this was it.....

On the interstate on the way to work I say a truck that had the back door wide open...with all there tools and stuff....several could have easily fell out...
I saw 20 cars drive by this guy. When I got up to him I got his attention and did the best to explain what was wrong, he pulled over and closed it and continued on his way. I have a small problem with how unhelpful people are......

No pool till first week of December .....

Back again for another action filled week of spectacular fun!

Any kid will run an errand for you if you ask at bedtime.

Friday night at Chuck-e-Cheese …hmmm… Blaise had fun for his birthday…. Austin shot baskets the whole time we were there and was impressed with having the high scores on all four machines when we left….and I just tried to stay sane…Grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins were there too.

Saturday Austin’s team won all three basketball games; Two in the morning Indianola tournament , one in their Ankeny league. In between that we went and watched ISU play basketball and tailgated before the football game, but squeaked out of there…FREEZING!!!!!!

They lost there bb game Sunday morning and missed out of the tournament by 5 points…the first three games were pool play, before the bracket playing…They finished 10th out of 20, but I think they were better than that, just how it falls….
I'm excited about our BB team. Saturday they played well, obviously it was a preseason game and it fell like it. I feel we have some great ball handlers and outside shooters. My biggest concern would be the inside guys, I'm afraid they may be man handled....we will see.
Finally saw James Bond last night with Shanan. Great movie, I’m not sure how well it would stand on it’s own…it’s a true sequel to Casino Royale . Non-stop action and extremely emotionally packed from start to finish……I’d like to see it again, some of it happened so fast!

Deep Thought of the Day: Why are wise men, and wise guys the exact opposite?

Finally the day before Saturday

Here's a good article talking about how easy it is to get a staph infection important info is about half way through....something you don't want to get!

RAGBRAI registration opens today!

Now the car manufacturers want bailed out!!!! Why don't we just move to a socialist government and get it done.

Formula for change...unfortunately must get through Congress first...
If you pester your congressman for these and also don't vote them back in maybe we can get change!

The New James Bond movie is released today. The first actual sequel james bond movie....might see it this weekend or this afternoon.

tomorrow vs. Missouri...of course the basketball season starts tonight....
