24 days until RAGBRAI XXXV!!!
Training miles: we don’t want to go there……

Austin had baseball practice last night and Blaise and I went to Dairy Queen instead of practicing soccer…poor kid this daycare is killing him…its go..go..go…all day no nap. Swimming leasons in the morning…pool in the afternoon, and everything in between. His little body isn’t handling it well. He is very delirious and exhausted when I pick him up every time.

Talked to Marcus for 15 minutes today....HE IS ALMOST BACK!!! Anyway over the last 1 1/2 years I haven't said much about home, because I don't want to remind him what he is missing, etc. So I started telling him a little whats going on...he's getting pumped, his replacement took over most of his duties yesterday. Sounds like he will be extremely busy for sometime when he gets back. Most likely the first time most of us will see him will probably be Cedar Falls on RAGBRAI. Laura is finally getting excited too...it's so cute. I'm glad he will finally be back!...so he can get that family started.

Went to the FSA office this morning what a zoo….have to go back in two weeks to file my paperwork…
Work is freaking busy….

Decker is on baby watch....due next Wednesday, he told her to wait until after that!
Steak night tonight …some golfing tomorrow …..and of course work in between.

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Deep Thought of the Day: Even though he was an enemy of mine, I had to admit that what he had accomplished was a brilliant piece of strategy. First, he punched me, then he kicked me, then he punched me again.

Another beautiful warm Tuesday on planet realisim.......
Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 09:01 AM
Didn't make biking last night, did a little walking instead after work...actually more talking then anything...…nice weather….maybe a tad hot. I'm not sure what's going on but I've been waking up at 4am every morning and not for the right reasons.....

Eric N said it was 111 yesterday, but it’s a dry heat. Of course he said that titanium shift knob on his car has left a scorch mark on his hand….it heats up mucho!

Got the DMACC Telecom Portal pretty much finished...should do more customizing, but they have limited my permissions on the server, having to jump through to many hoops to get things to work correctly......

Another beautiful day…stuck inside! Speaking of....Song of the Day is: Mr. E's Beautiful Blues by Eels….it’s the first song in the player…..I might redo that player so it lists all the songs at once….just not today.

I think Brian S….has died….have not been able to get a hold of this guy...etc……

Crack Whore Stacy asks “what’s that dog with the hand pointing at(the background picture)….Hello its Hong Kong Phooey! Everybody cool knows that!

On the way to work there were about 20 cars at the bike trail in Carlisle…must be nice to have vacation!!!!!

Tonight Austin has BB practice....Blaise and I are going to practice soccer.

Steak ride tomorrow night….sounds like the Cumming trail has a lot of trees down and in the way......Art festival this weekend…..and I think the boys are going to help me prep the Stang for Wednesday.....

On This Day In History: Charlie Chaplin's epic comedy The Gold Rush opens 1925. Also Sedi loses his virginity to the daughter of his master-sargent 2007.

Deep thought of the Day: As the snow started to fall, he tugged his coat tighter around himself. Too tight, as it turned out. "This is the fourth coat crushing this year", said the sergeant as he outlined the body with a special pencil that writes on snow.

????Does anybody read these deep thoughts?…is it a waste of time?….I think they're funny! Just let me know in the comments one way or the other. Peace Out!

New week....
Monday, June 25, 2007, 09:31 AM
We had a weekend baseball tournament in Winterset….with 10 kids that Adam D and I picked from what was left out of our little league that wasn’t already on some type of AAU team. They included; Austin D, Ryne De., Jake S, Mike H, Jacob M, Cody M, Dan M, Nathan D, Alex, Don D…..Compared to our regular teams during the season these kids actually sometimes act like they want to play….as the tournament progressed their concentration went down hill….but they had fun in between the games….
They all did pretty decent during the tournament, but they never were consistent enough. We lost a total of 3 innings in the tournament….that equaled 3 games. If you threw out those innings we would have won the whole tournament. We ended up with 4th.
They are going to play in one more tournament in a few weeks in Carlisle. The nice thing is Adam is the head coach, so its more relaxing for me.......

Went to the La Vida Loca Winery Saturday after baseball was done. Picked up a nice bottle of La Vida Loca Red.

Went to the races after that, something I hadn’t done for some time. Still don’t miss it. Kinda got roped into helping Jim G in the pits with his car….He owes me a new shirt. Then we went to an after party on the outskirts of town and I nearly missed the first game on Sunday…….
Talked to Don D quite a bit yesterday, he races sprints….I’m still not interested. Like I have time anyway….

Didn’t make the Big Country Bash yesterday, as the kids would have had to lose their first game so I could have made it. Of course if you take the twang out of modern country you have modern pop, if you put twang in modern pop you have modern country.

Mom had her hip replaced on Friday and talked to her yesterday. They had her walking on Saturday and Sunday…no pain…she was excited…suppose to come home today. Only took three years to get her to finally go through with it.
Sold my first and only Indian…of course I only had it for 3 weeks….made $3500 profit on it. Probably kick myself later, but there is no way I had 1000 hours and probably $10K to stick in it…..better off buying one restored….The one thing I have always wanted since seeing the opening scene from LaBamba years ago....much rather have that then a Harley....why?...cause everyone has a Harley....

I'll have to see if I can get some information and photos from the hickest wedding reception over the weekend in Onawa...Emily???

Emily got her shamus green bedroom painted or at least primered….her and Erica are keeping the dining room/kitchen the grabber orange that it currently is…..good luck to them.

FYI: It doesn’t work to iron your shirt while you are wearing it…possibly a nasty burn if your not careful……

Watched The Guardian last night…actually a pretty descent movie….I was trying to figure out how they were going to make a movie about coast guard jumpers exciting, they did….Of course I feel they ruined the whole movie with one line at the end that said something about….”I found my answer 2 weeks ago when….”

Sounds like Murdock and Andy has made it back from the Ozarks alive...

No summer softball except maybe a tournament...then hopefully Dave gets us in the pizza league at Sands...

Deep Thought of the Day: How come, just as the rocket is launching, the astronauts don't also shoot some fireworks out the window? It would make the whole takeoff look more impressive.

Thursday...what a fun night...

It's officially the FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!

Golden Circle Games:
As we close the pages on another successful Golden Circle Games, let’s remember what Mr T. would say “I pity the fool that missed the games!” It was an 80’s theme….and still hot this year, but on the bright side we had music and of course alcohol…
I did see the Village People, Devo, Pee-wee Herman ”That had to be HOT!”, and I’m sure there are others that I missed or just forgot…

Here Pee-wee Herman is carrying a few adult beverages. He had the his white platform shoes on too...appearently they didn't make the picture. Also had his annoying laugh....

Here are those fabulous shirts we got....I'm the one on the right.

Here is my best recollection of people that I ran into…..In order of running into them.…..Karen, Beth B, Brandi, Mike, Jim D, Kim H, Joe F, Stacy W, Shelly W, Sheryl “Tiggs”, Vik F, Kari M, Annie M, Julie S, Kenny M, Dustan K, Mike P, Tom S, Heather K, Jane, Clarice, Kim(still the Ice Queen) K, Dave D, Vikki, Odie, Chris, Chelsy, Lauran M, Lori B, Gene P, Leslie L, Donna S, Ashley H, Cindy W, Lori H, Denise F, Mike N , Pam C, Dan C, Deb G, Debbie D, Jeremy L, Rachelle, Sedi H, and of course all those that I can’t remember names for…

Odie had a beautiful swan dive on the asphalt...luckily he didn't get hurt….but it was funny…of course the alcohol probably made everything funnier then it was…

Dave did an excellent job running the coach the chicken game and of course getting that backpack in again…..Thanks man! I'm thinking I may help with that game next...and not because of the innuendos.

Our team sponsored was by Wells… Beth was the captain…we played:
The Chariets of Fire - wheel barrel relay
Orange Crush - the orange under the chin relay thing
Ms. Pacman - locked arms, back to back with teammate, and ball in between you relay.
Some relay with a foam snake thing between the legs
Bocce Ball
Dice relay where you hold on to your teammate on a certain part of body decided by the dice.

We were 3-3…I didn’t want to win…just socialize, but I didn’t throw any games intentionally….

I don't want to forget the team from one of the Remaxs that were so full of themselves....hope they enjoy there life almost reminds me of the Bat girls from Ragbrai.....

Glad I went…almost talked myself out of it earlier in the day!

Cops don’t like fireworks? we were back in the parking lot drinking and talking among 4 or 5 teams. I accidentally let off some fireworks….the 5.0 came over and was telling us how he didn’t want anymore fireworks. I’m like huh?? etc..etc…enough of that.

Sorry I can't sit here all day and go through everything........

Golden Circle Games tonight
Wednesday, June 20, 2007, 12:25 PM
Golden Circles with a god awful ugly freaking shirt from Wells....I guess I just won't look at my own shirt. Should be another fun year…..Plummer had let me know they have the same ugly shirts only in blue…….

Last night Austin had baseball practice for this tournament this weekend. It was short and actually enjoyable. As all the kids on the team actually know how to play and have a little skill level, compared to our regular season team. These kids all want to be there.

Was up at 4 this morning...got some laundry done, did some boxing, worked on the model site......4 o'clock was an accident!

Song of the day is by Velvet Revolver called Come on, Come in….its the first song on the player……Remember Slash from G’n’R…he is part of the band…coming out with a new album in 2 weeks……

Had a meeting all morning…how do other people get things done when they are in mtg’s all the time?? I’m not working nights for here, on a nightly basis.

Just got done talking to Marcus....he can't wait to come back!

Is this day over yet?????

Deep Thought for the Day: If aliens from outer space ever came and we show them our civilization and they make fun of it, we should say we were just kidding, that this isn't really our civilization, but a gag we hoped they would like. Then we tell them to come back in twenty years to see our real civilization. After that, we start a crash program of coming up with an impressive new civilization. Either that, or just shoot down the aliens as they're waving goodbye.
