Monday.....day 7514
Monday, January 21, 2008, 09:55 AM
Saturday night I had a little too much wine at Plummer’s before Ron White ….I missed part of the show as I dozed off….from what I saw he was funny…..Damn it was COLD!!! We preceded down to Peoples to watch Public Property… did I mention it was freezing! Of course it was packed and most of us slipped inside… Carla’s boy toy got stopped at the door to pay the $10 cover and the three of us decided we didn’t really need to see them again. Mike, Diana, and Allison enjoyed the show….that’s about it for Saturday night….. Of course if I wasn't up at 6(because of my boys) I may have faired better.

Austin won his basketball game easily on Saturday. He was telling me how bored he was…just rolling my eyes….

Beth is supposed to be having her kid…like now……

Cyclones basketball team is looking good…or at least decent….they beat Oklahoma State quite easily on Saturday.

Looks like it’s the Patriots and Giants in the Superbowl……

Friday is Jamaica ….not for me…..I can’t do anything requiring an additional day away from my boys until I’m done with her in court….

Cindi disappeared in Chicago over the weekend….. :o

Deep Thought of the Day: Here's a good joke to do during an earthquake: Straddle a big crack in the earth, and if it opens wider, go, "Whoa! Whoa!" and flail your arms around, as if you're going to fall in.

Ended up going to the TMG Holiday Party last night, glad I went. It was actually fun and the building it was at….didn’t know it existed. It’s called West End Architectural Salvage in a 40,000-square-foot warehouse at 22 Ninth St. in Des Moines. It’s actually a coffee house during the day and a huge warehouse full of antiques. Just like the title says….Salvage….they have most anything you can imagine for your house, as long as you want something old. I could actually add on to my house and keep the decor consistent throughout the addition. I wasn’t able to locate a website for them.
Before hand I had a few pre-party cocktails at Raccoon River, Plummer helping me work on my pool game.

Austin has a lock-in tonight for boy scouts…so it will just be Blaise and I.

It doesn’t look like the wind is suppose to be as bad as they claimed yesterday, but it will still be a COLD weekend.

Deep Thought of the Day: In some places it's known as a tornado. In others, a cyclone. And in still others, the Idiot's Merry-go-round. But around here they'll always be known as screw-boys.

Snow on a Thursday! What?

You know 4-wheel drive actually works pretty good in this crappy weather, in fact it helps with braking too! Of course you can’t slide around corners, but hey you can shift it out for that!

My Grandma fell last night and broke her hip...Now before you get the idea...well usually people that age can't come back from that. She is way too strong a person not to come back. Having surgery on it today to fix/screw it back together. I'm sure she'll be running around in a month, knowing her.

Tonight TMG is having some Holiday party…….to go or NOT to go.

Iowa State looked good last night…played like a team. If they could continue to play like that the season will not be a complete lost and its more fun to watch them play like that! Clark’s been looking more like his old self the last couple games.

Trophy squirrel killed in Iowa

Currently listening to : Echoes, Silence, Patience & GraceThe Foo Fighters

Saturday: Austin basketball, Park West art auction, Ron White Civic Center…

Sunday: Something about pro football?? Who really cares….

Tip of the Day: If it’s not there, it’s not there. Don’t try to make it be there, cause it’s still not there.

Started writing The Dead Gambler on Tuesday....we'll see what becomes of me finishing it....a book to start, I'd rather see it as a movie. Unfortunately my writing skills( what little I had) disappeared about 8 years ago....Of course when the movie gets made it should star Donnie Summersett .....

Deep Thought of the Day: Here's a good trick: Get a job as a judge at the Olympics. Then, if some guy sets a world record, pretend that you didn't see it and go, "Okay, is everybody ready to start now?"

It's Wednesday Day 6969

Watched The Bucket List last night....great movie. I feel like I can relate to them....except for the amount of money they have and the knowledge thing....other than that I'm right there.

Here's 10 Unique Keyboards.......

I wouldn't vote for her, mainly because of her ethics.
....but this is accurate too....
Quarterback for the Packers...
In a news conference Deanna Favre announced she will be the starting QB for the Packers this coming Sunday. Deanna asserts that she is qualified to be starting QB because she has spent the past 16 years married to Brett while he played QB for the Packers. During this period of time she became familiar with the definition of a corner blitz, and is now completely comfortable with other terminology of the Packers offense. A survey of Packers fans shows that 50% of those polled supported the move.

Does this sounds idiotic and unbelievable to you? Well, Hillary Clinton makes the same claims as to why she is qualified to be President and 50% of democrats polled agreed. She has never run a City, County, or State.
When told Hillary Clinton has experience because she has 8 years in the white house, Dick Morris stated "so has the pastry chef".

Ron White at the Civic Center ....Saturday

Deep Thought of the Day: Sometimes, when I drive across the desert in the middle of the night, with no other cars around, I start imagining: What if there were no civilization out there? No cities, no factories, no people? And then I think: No people or factories? Then who made this car? And this highway? And I get so confused I have to stick my head out the window into the driving rain - unless there's lightning, because I could get struck on the head by a bolt.
